Saw a Starlink deal online? Five checks before you count on it

A short checklist for any Starlink offer you find in a headline, an AI answer or a forum post, with the Starlink rule behind each check.

Published Facts checked 7 min read By Starlink Promo Code USA

Key takeaways

  • Check the end date first: a search on Nov 4, 2026 still served spring 2026 offers that had ended months earlier.
  • Check the country: Canadian, UK and Japanese offers show up in US searches and can't price a US address.
  • Check your address: Residential prices and promotions are set by location, and starlink.com reveals them once an address is in.
  • Check who it's for: some Starlink offers go only to former customers, and referral rewards go to first-time Starlink customers alone.
  • Check the strings: the plan, the kit, an activation window and 'may not be combined' wording can change what an offer is worth.

Most Starlink deals you’ll find in a search fail one of five checks: they’ve ended, they’re for another country, they’re for one address area, they’re for existing or returning customers, or they depend on a plan or kit you won’t pick. Run any offer through the five below before you plan around it.

On r/Starlink, people paste an offer and ask strangers whether it’s good for them (April 2026, May 2026). The answer nearly always turns on one of these:

# Check Ask Where to look
1 Date Is it still running? The offer’s end date and the article’s date, not the headline
2 Country Is it for the US? The currency, the country named, the publisher’s country
3 Address Is it for my address? starlink.com’s order page, after you enter the address
4 Customer New, existing or returning? The offer’s own terms or email
5 Strings What plan, kit or window does it need? The fine print, including “may not be combined”

Check 1, the date: is it still running?

Search results age badly. A search for current Starlink offers on Nov 4, 2026 still returned a Teslanorth article from Apr 20, 2026 about a $35-a-month offer with an April 30 deadline. The offer had been over for six months. Read the offer’s end date, and the date on the article, before the headline.

AI answers lag too. On Nov 3, 2026, AI search answers still described Starlink’s referral as a one-month service credit, a reward Starlink replaced in October 2026. Starlink’s current referral terms, dated Oct 7, 2026, give a first-time US customer a $100 reward after two months subscribed instead.

Starlink’s own price lists carry an end date when an offer has one. The Japanese and Korean half-price offers in November 2026 both showed Nov 28 as their end date in Starlink’s order lists. An article that gives no end date, or an end date already past, has failed this check.

Check 2, the country: does it say Canada, the UK or Japan?

Starlink runs offers country by country, and English-language coverage of Canadian, British and Australian offers lands in US results. An iPhoneinCanada article from Apr 28, 2026 about a $49 internet deal is a typical case: real, dated and for Canada. The half-price holiday offer live on Nov 4, 2026 was coded for Japan and South Korea only.

Look for the currency, the country the publisher covers and the plan names, which differ between countries. Then remember the rule underneath: each Starlink account is registered to one country, and a US service address gets the US price list. Where the 50% offer runs has a dated table of foreign offers that turned up in US searches.

Check 3, your address: “select areas” and area offers

Starlink’s help center says “Residential plans, pricing, and promotions may vary by location and account type.” starlink.com shows no Residential price until you enter an address, and Residential’s two lower speed tiers, 100 and 200 Mbps, are sold only in select areas. Promotional pricing is “in select areas” too, and it shows on the order page if your address has it.

Two addresses can get different prices on the same day. Take Nov 3, 2026: with no address entered, starlink.com’s countrywide figures were $49.50 (100 Mbps), $76.50 (200 Mbps) and $143 (Max) a month, while one public test address in Broken Bow, Nebraska was quoted $55, $85 and $130. A friend’s price, or a price in an article, tells you little about yours.

Some areas also get named area offers, such as half-price Residential service in Cameron County, Texas, matched to the service address with nothing to enter. Current US offers lists them with dates.

Check 4, new or returning: who the offer is for

Many Starlink offers are only for one kind of customer:

  • Promotional service pricing is for new customers and applies to one service line, under Starlink’s promotional pricing terms.
  • Win-back offers go to former customers by email. In November 2025, Notebookcheck reported Starlink emailing former customers 50% off monthly service for two years, and the reactivation deadline was Dec 1, 2025.
  • Emailed offers can be tied to the address that received them. Starlink’s order page has an error message for that case: “This email is not eligible for one or more promotions. Try the email that received the offer, or continue checkout without the promotion(s).”
  • Referral rewards are for people who have never had Starlink. Starlink’s referral help article says existing and returning customers aren’t eligible.

If you already have Starlink, promotions for existing customers covers what applies to you.

Check 5, the strings: plan, kit, activation window, “can’t be combined”

The headline number usually comes with conditions that change what it’s worth:

  • The plan. Residential Max bundles two extras: a Mini on loan that adds nothing to the monthly bill, and eligible Roam plans at half their usual monthly cost. That’s only good value if you want Max at your address’s Max price.
  • “May not be combined.” Starlink’s Special Offers document says that Max offer “may not be combined with other offers”.
  • The kit. A new Mini from starlink.com carries an Activation Benefit at checkout; leave the kit unactivated past its first week at your door and Starlink can take that benefit back.
  • Rent or buy. On Nov 3, 2026, all of Residential’s countrywide plans came with a rented kit. Rentals must be returned undamaged inside 30 days of cancelling; otherwise the bill is the hardware’s full retail price.
  • The promo window. A promotional price runs a fixed period from activation or 7 days after delivery, and a plan change, cancellation or suspension ends it.
  • The payment plan. The Mini can be paid in 12 monthly installments of $12.41 at 0% APR (Starlink US order list, Nov 3, 2026). Starlink’s installment agreement says missed payments can go to collections and be reported to credit bureaus, so a low monthly figure in a headline isn’t the whole price.

An offer that passes all five checks is real; confirm it on the order page for your address before you pay. If the “deal” you found is a code, the checker tells you what kind it is in a few seconds, without sending what you paste anywhere.
