Short answer

In one line: there is no Starlink promo code for US orders, and no box at checkout to put one in. A referral works only through its link, in the tab you order in, and Starlink adds a $100 reward for a qualifying first-time customer after two months of service. It isn’t money off.

Codes, links and checkout
My order is in. Is it too late for a referral code?
No. The referral has to come in with the order itself: a referral can’t be attached after the order if the link wasn’t used to place it. That covers orders placed with no link, with a different customer’s link, and kits bought in a store.
I opened two referral links. Which one counts?
The last one you opened in the tab where you order. In the scripts behind starlink.com’s order pages, as they stood on Oct 29, 2026, each tab held a single referral and a newer link pushed out the older one; that comes from our code reading, not a written Starlink policy. A handful of help-center pages embed starlink.com links carrying some other customer’s RC- code, and following one inside your order tab trades your referral for theirs (our finding from the site’s page code), so read help pages in a different tab.
Can I open the link on my phone and order on my laptop?
No. when we went through the scripts behind starlink.com’s order pages (Oct 29, 2026), the referral lived in that one tab’s session storage and nowhere else, so shutting the tab dropped it; that is our finding, not a written Starlink policy. Open the link on the device you’ll order from, and complete the order there.
Can I order in the Starlink app with a referral link?
We don’t know whether the Starlink app keeps hold of a referral you opened in your browser, and Starlink doesn’t say. Its help center only says it points the referral link at Residential or Roam orders on starlink.com. So order on starlink.com in your browser, in the same tab.
How can I tell the referral worked before I pay?
Check before you pay: with the referral attached, the words “Referral Code Applied” turn up in green next to Checkout (under the button on a laptop, over it on a phone). When the referral is unusable (an invalid code, say, or one that doesn’t fit the order type), the order page swaps in an amber notice reading “Referral Code Not Applied”, and the order goes ahead with no reward. Even the green panel only shows the link is attached: the call on whether an order qualifies is Starlink’s alone, and it’s final.
If the code turns out to be a referral
Is the referral reward money off my order?
No. The kit and the first month are paid in full and the dish is activated as usual; the referral takes nothing off at checkout. The $100 comes later, from Starlink, if you qualify.
When does the referral reward arrive?
Starlink gives two answers. Under its terms the reward is credited on your second monthly service bill; the help center has it issued from roughly day 60 after activation, if your account setup and ID verification clear it. Plan on it after two months of service, not on a set date. You can follow referrals and rewards in the Referrals section, on the website or in the app.
Is the reward account credit or cash?
Credit unless you switch: Starlink pays service credit unless you change it, which Starlink takes off your next bill. You can take it as cash paid into your bank, where your account allows it, picked under Referrals in your Starlink account. Cash is paid through Stripe, per Starlink’s help center, and the Stripe setup only works on the website, not in the app; skip the Stripe setup and the reward arrives as service credit.
Do I pay tax on a Starlink referral reward?
It may be taxable; ask a tax professional. Starlink’s terms say only that rewards are issued before tax, and Starlink isn't responsible for any tax on them.
Does Standby Mode count toward the two months?
No. Starlink requires that you keep the service active and paid up, without a break, for two complete monthly billing cycles, and both cycles have to be on a high-speed plan, so time in Standby Mode doesn’t count.
Order day
Kit, shipping, tax
Paid in full at checkout; the referral leaves the total alone.
Month 1
First month’s service
Billed when you activate, or 7 days after delivery if that’s sooner.
Month 2
Second month’s service
Two full months of high-speed service in a row; Standby time doesn’t count.
Second invoice
$100 reward
The terms tie it to invoice number two. Help pages say it can come from about day 60 after activation.
Stores, plans and where you live
Does a kit from Amazon, Best Buy or another store earn the reward?
No. The kit and the plan both have to be bought on starlink.com itself; store purchases, unauthorized resellers and second-hand transfers are out. Opening a referral link before you buy in a store doesn’t change that.
Does a rented kit earn the referral reward?
We don’t know. Nobody at Starlink has said if a rental order pays the referral reward: the terms talk about buying kit and subscription on starlink.com and never mention rentals. “Referral Code Applied” on a rental order shows only that the link is attached, not that the order qualifies.
Can a business account use a referral link?
No. Starlink says Business, Enterprise and Priority accounts are left out of referral rewards. Starlink’s terms add that you sign up as an individual person, not a company.
Does a referral work in Puerto Rico, Guam or other US territories?
We don’t know, so our referral link is aimed only at service addresses in the states and DC. Starlink’s terms don’t say whether a US referral link counts for Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa or the Northern Mariana Islands. They do require that you and the person who referred you need service addresses in the same country, here the US.
The referral link won’t help you if…
You’re a Starlink customer now, or were one
Starlink rewards first-time customers only, so the link can’t do anything for your account. What you can use instead
Your order is already placed
Neither you nor Starlink support can attach a referral to an order once it’s in.
You’re picking up a kit at a retailer
A kit from any store or marketplace earns no reward, with or without the link.
Starlink sent you an offer of its own
Use that first. Nobody has confirmed that it stacks with a referral. How to check it’s real
You want Starlink for a short trip
The reward needs two full billing cycles, and Starlink built the program for people who keep their service.
Other offers and codes
Can I combine a referral with another Starlink offer?
We don’t know. Starlink hasn’t said whether the $100 referral credit stacks with an area discount, an area’s promotional pricing, the Mini’s Activation Benefit or the Max Mini offer. The Max offer’s own terms say it can’t be stacked with other offers. Read the order summary before paying.
Is there a Starlink military or veteran discount?
We found none. We found no military, veteran, first-responder, teacher, student or Tesla-owner price in any of Starlink’s help articles, legal terms or US price lists. The “military code” one coupon site lists is a customer’s referral code. What we checked.
I already have Starlink. Does a referral link do anything for me?
No. Starlink’s help center is plain about it: people who have Starlink now, or had it before, don’t qualify. What current customers can use instead.
